Pacific Patrol BoatLife Extension Program (PPBLEP)In the 1980's Australia built a number of fast patrol boats for the Pacific Island Nations as means for them to protect their dwindling fishing stocks from plunder by massive overseas fishing vessels. Originally these vessels were to be in service for 20 years, the Australian government has now decided to extend the life of these vessels by stripping and refitting them. The work is being done at the Ross Haven Marine facility in Townsville. Seabaourne Electronics is the primary supplier of Electronics expertise to this project
